Ray is a well-respected port development, port management and operations executive, with over forty years global industry experience.
Ray’s experience includes 25 years with P&O Ports in senior management roles and six years at Patricks Port Botany Container Terminal as General Manager, and General Manager of Stevedoring for Qube. His latest corporate roles have been with DP World where he was Regional Manager (American / Europe) for 10 ports on three continents and Australian and New Zealand/Pacific Regional Director of Operations.
During this time, Ray established Portside and has successfully consulted on significant projects for global companies including, APM Terminals and DP World as well as numerous Australian Port Authorities. Portside Solutions has been engaged in examining pit to port solutions for multiple mining companies throughout Africa, the Middle East and Australia. Steve Carlin has twenty years’ experience delivering adult learning and more than ten years’ experience delivering leadership development initiatives globally.
Steve has worked predominantly in the stevedoring and mining industries in global roles and has significant cross-cultural experience having successfully delivered leadership development training in over fifteen different countries for P&O Ports, DP World, Downer Consulting, Anglo Coal Australia and Anglo Gold Ashanti. He effectively builds rapport with both blue and white collar audiences.
Steve combines his practical experience as a team leader with the theoretical framework of academic research to provide expert tuition in the development of leadership and teams in cross-cultural settings.

Phil is an experienced commercial executive with a strong finance and commercial background. An experienced Chief Financial Officer of several large corporates and Government bodies, Phil ‘s strength is organic growth, acquisitions and joint ventures alongside the preparation of financial models, mergers and acquisitions, business case submissions, financial modeling and due diligence reports. Phil also specializes in the analysis of proposals, acquisitions and commercial contracts.

Adrian is a ports and IT professional with 30 years’ experience in the logistics, supply chain and ports related industry working specifically with innovative companies. Background in Ports and Logistics systems with an in-depth working knowledge of the underlying technologies and their capabilities that can be deployed to enhance the business and system processes. Having held many senior positions, including CIO, Adrian is particularly adept at identifying the key strategic drivers required to deliver innovative information systems and processes that improve efficiency and reduce operating costs. He also unpins this with a commitment to identifying and implementing continuous improvements and cost effective solutions that remain sustainable.
Specialising in real world operational scenarios and business processes, Adrian’s deep knowledge of the systems and processes associated with the modern port environment, including automation systems is complete.

Claude is a marine and logistics expert, an IT and business systems specialist with more than two decades of experience in the maritime industry. Claude has extensive expertise in the strategic coordination of many different areas of maritime terminal functionality, with particular strengths in launching and driving new initiatives. His specialties include, logistics technology solutions, budgeting and execution of projects, domain expertise on marine ports and extensive expertise in TOS migration and deployment for systems upgrades (e.g. Express/SPARCS to SPARCS N4).

Phil is a qualified engineer with over 27 years’ experience in the management of the delivery of port related and process plant infrastructure project. Phil has successfully delivered projects in Australia, USA and Asia. His experience has been gained working both as a consultant to port owners, operators and developers such as mining companies. Phil has performed the role of project manager and project director acting as the client’s representative in the delivery of project up to AUD $5 billion dollars and has performed those roles for ASX listed companies such as Patrick Corporation, BHP, for private companies such as Visy and for Government bodies.
Phil’s technical background enables full understanding of the scope and scale of projects, but his particular expertise is the management of risk and the development of risk mitigation strategies, either by the successful use of contractual terms or by negotiating the risk to parties who are better placed to manage.
In the past 10 years, Phil has successfully managed the delivery of upgrades to the Port Botany container terminal in Sydney, duplication of the coal export port in North Queensland, a ship unloading port in Sydney and the bankable feasibility study for a 350 million tonne iron ore export and fuel import port in Western Australia. For the feasibility study, Phil was the project director and signed the study on behalf of the delivery team.

With ten years of legal work in Africa, Naomi has worked with numerous mining companies and government bodies to secure the improvement and expansion of critical infrastructure in Southern Africa. Her work in Mozambique has focused on the management of national or inter-regional development projects ranging from primary health interventions to the development of commercial infrastructures to attract international investment. Recently focusing on pit to port solutions for major mining companies, Naomi’s strengths are the brokering of Public-Private agreements for the development of rail and port infrastructures and negotiating long-term investment incentives in high-risk tax jurisdictions.
